Anita and Catherine recently debuted their newest show in a sold-out performance at Davenport's Cabaret. "HERstory: A Century of Songwriting Sisters" celebrates the famous and not-so-famous women who have contributed to Tin Pan Alley, the Great American Songbook, the Broadway canon, and contemporary popular music with songs that span the decades. Anita and Catherine share songs by 20th century composers and lyricists from Carolyn Leigh, Dorothy Fields, and Dana Suesse, to Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Gloria Estefan, among others, and entertain audiences with inspiring stories of how these women became part of the soundtrack of our lives. The show's very first audience responded with standing ovations and left the show with a new appreciation for what these women overcame to achieve their success. For more details click here.
HERstory: Trailblazing Female Firsts debuted in March 2022 and salutes the gutsy gals who boldly defied society’s conventions - going where no woman had gone before - and achieved groundbreaking female “Firsts.” With songs by Harold Arlen, Stephen Schwartz, Dolly Parton, Tom Lehrer, Kander & Ebb, and Sara Bareilles, among others, Anita and Catherine weave in inspiring stories of amazing women and their trailblazing triumphs. Their first audiences enthusiastically responded with standing ovations. For more details click here.
HERstory: The 19th Amendment and The Power of the Vote! debuted in June 2019 with a sold-out performance at Davenport’s Cabaret in Chicago. Catherine and Anita demonstrate that “well-behaved women seldom make history” when they celebrate – in song and HERstory – the rabble-rousing pioneers who won the right to vote for the women of America. With music by Sondheim, Lennon & McCartney, the Sherman Brothers, Parton, Schwartz, Porter, and others, they weave in the story of women’s suffrage from second-class citizenship at the nation’s founding to the nail-biting final days in the fight for ratification of the 19th Amendment and then to present-day efforts to maximize the power of women voting. “HERstory XIX” has had broad appeal since its debut five years ago, with virtual performances of the show during the Covid pandemic and regular live performances since then. In this presidential election year, Catherine and Anita would love to bring this dynamic blend of music and history to your venue. For more details click here.
